Birthday Parties

Birthday parties are currently on hiatus.

Tūhura Otago Museum birthday parties are an unforgettable experience full of fun and learning.

The DIY Birthday Package is the best day out for all the small people of Dunedin on their birthdays!

You get a private room with themed decorations to suit your child, ensuring a space that is festive and fun. Our private party room is upstairs from the Tūhura Science Centre, so you are close to all the interactive fun – and the three-storey slide!

You get entry for your guests to the Science Centre, so you can explore the beautiful Tropical Forest and walk among the rainforest butterflies, and enjoy the 40+ hands-on interactives in New Zealand’s largest science centre.

Parties run Saturdays and Sundays from 10.30am – 12.30pm or 1.30pm – 3.30pm.

The charge is $25 per child, with one adult free for every five children (meaning a party of ten children will provide free entry for two adults). Additional adults attending are charged $15.

The minimum number for a party booking is ten children. Paid children must be over the age of four years old.
